Not Just Hero, but Also Angel

Not Just hero.
But Also Angel.

Let me introduce you to my hero, angel, lifesaver, supporter, teacher, ATM, and my everything. She's my mother. She may not be famous, and beautiful. But i believe, she has pure heart, kindness, and she is beautiful in my eyes. She will always be my number one.

Once again, let me introduce you my mother. Her name is Supriani. She was born at 25 of October 1965 in a small village in the center of oil palm plantation near Medan. She's the 4th child from 8th child. She will turn 54 years old this year. Let me tell you a little story about her.

She is my motivation to stay strong. She taught me to be independent, responsible, and stay healthy.

When she was 20 years old, she got an invitation to study in UNPAD. But that opportunity was rejected by her mom (AKA my grand  mother). She had nothing except gut. She went to Bandung all by herself. With no money and no family member. She had a gut to change her life destiny.

When she arrived in Bandung, she suffered a lot. She had no money to pay the semester, she had no money to pay the rent, and she got no money from the family because her family were poor. So she was forced to work as a reporter. She was also forced to beg money to the rector of the university. She work hard and play hard.

After she graduated from university, she worked as a reporter. She was tomboy. She had a good social skill. And she was really beautiful at that time. But it all stopped when she got married.

She met my dad in Bandung and had a long distance relationship for almost a year. Then they married in 1994. My mother married at age 29 and my dad married at age 28. They had no children for almost 9 years. That was very long time. But that 9 years were rough. Here is why..

She had many surgeries on her stomach. She suffered from a nonstop pus on her ovary. While she was suffered, she and my father had to move from Kendari, to Makassar, and then Bali. She manage to stay alive.

After different kinds of surgeries, then there was me. I was born at Denpasar, Bali 2003. But that's not the end of her illness. She had one more surgery. She was facing life or death. She decided to stay alive, and took care of me by took the ovaries away (cut/remove the ovaries). That was the reason why i'm the only child. She was very brave. And i'm grateful to have her in my life.

Time passed, now she's not working and she's always there for me. But this isn't the end of her illness. She had diabetes. Her diabetes was passed down by her mother (my grand mother). And i'm aware that i have diabetes too. She also had to therapy on her left arm because there were some bones that collide with each other. She's getting older, and i couldn't help. I'm really scared to lose her.

I came from a small family. Not very rich, not too poor. For me, my parents are the most precious thing that cannot be trade or exchange for anything in this world.

She's a fighter, survivor, and she will always be. She's a hero and also an angel. She had some rough time but that's not the end. Despite her past and her illness, she's living her best life. She's always there for me. She's my number one, and she will always be.
